LSU Football players spoke to the media Tuesday night, giving insight of their mindset heading into their homecoming weekend.
“Working on our details, fixing the little stuff, fixing our steps, and nitpicking the little things,” Defensive End Jimari Butler stated while explaining how LSU has benefited during the bye week.
With opinions circulating within the media about Garrett Nussmeier and his ability to perform, one player was very adamant about his quarterback’s health and the team’s confidence in him after their week off.
“Garretts had a solid week so far, he’s ready to get out there and go play just like everybody else,” Wide Receiver Kyle Parker said.
When asked about what the offense needs to do moving forward Parker also stated that they need to “just focus on the details everyone needs to be on the same page, and to go out there and be able to execute. We know the offense we can be,” Parker said.
After starting 4-0, the Tigers were handed their first loss of the season in Oxford against big time rival, Ole Miss. Now reaching the halfway point of the season, LSU has to look at their next big SEC matchups coming soon.
“It’s not over till it’s over,” Safety A.J. Haulcy said. Haulcy showed a lot of faith in the secondary coming off their most recent loss.
Overall, the Tigers spoke heavily about working on better communication, cleaning up their offense, and continuing to believe in their defense.
Fans will get to see all that and more, this Saturday in Death Valley against the Gamecocks.
