At the Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, each of the three candidates gave their final statements to the board. Student Body President Lavar Henderson introduced a motion to nominate Wade Rousse as president and Jim Dalton as executive vice president and chancellor. The motion was passed with only one nay.

The presidential role has been empty since the end of June when former president William F. Tate IV left LSU for the same position at Rutgers. Interim President Matt Lee was selected to lead the university until the position was filled.

Lee was not voted as a finalist for the position.
