LSU Women’s Basketball secured their second win of the season against Southeastern Louisiana with a score of 115-26.
LSU found a rhythm and stuck with it throughout the entirety of the game, gaining control early on and holding it through the four quarters.
Senior guard Flau’jae Johnson led the team, scoring 17 points. Right behind her, ZaKaiyah Johnson and Kate Koval both scored 16 points each for the team.
Freshman guard Bella Hines came out strong, scoring 14 points and showing a strong defensive performance.
“My mindset going into the game is just to play as hard as possible,” said Hines. “Coach Mulkey’s very big on defense, so I try to go in there and just be on point on defense… she always says if you play defense, I have a place for you on the team.”
Head Coach Kim Mulkey highlighted junior South Carolina transfer MiLaysia Fulwiley.
Mulkey attributes the win against SLU to quick hands and ball pressure, both of which Fulwiley showed throughout her 16 minutes of play.
“I wouldn’t want MiLaysia guarding me,” Mulkey said. “Her hands are so quick.”
Fulwiley started her first season as a Tiger off strong, scoring 21 points against Houston Christian last week, and shows serious promise for the upcoming games.
The Lady Tigers will face the Georgia Southern Eagles on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Statesboro, Georgia, for their third game of the 2025-2026 season.
