The LSU Men’s Basketball team has suffered yet another loss in SEC play. They went up against Mississippi State in the PMAC and despite an attempt on being physical and efficient, it wasn’t enough to stop the Bulldogs shooting.
Right out the gate, Mississippi State was scoring back-to-back three’s while LSU struggled at the line. Under the ten minute mark, the Tigers were down 20 points to the Bulldogs (34-10).
At the end of the first half, the Bulldogs completely outscored the Tigers in the opening 20 minutes. The score was 44-21. The Tigers shot 32% (9-28) from the paint, 10% (1-10) from the three-point line and 25% (2-8) from the free throw while the bulldogs shot 51.5% (17-33) from the paint, 50% (7-14) from the three-point line and 60% (3-5) from the free throw line.
Coming back from the half, the Tigers tried to pick up a bit of steam and attempt to make a comeback, but ultimately came up short as there wasn’t a way to stop the Bulldogs dominating offense. The final score was 80-66.
Max Mackinnon was the leading scorer for the Tigers as he ended the night with 15 points while Dedan Thomas Jr. and Rashad King both finished with 14 points.
