One local bakery is teaching Baton Rouge how to make the most famous Mardi Gras dessert, with weekly classes held throughout the Mardi Gras season.
Guests are able to unleash their inner baker and create their own King Cake from scratch and even play a few rounds of Bingo while their cakes bake in the oven.
Owner, Madelyn Burr, decided to start hosting these classes as a way to have something fun and affordable to do in Baton Rouge.
“I find that it’s kind of kept a secret on how to make [King Cake] which I don’t agree with,” Burr said. “The only way to continue with our tradition is to share it with each other. So, hopefully once everyone will be able to say that they’ve made a King Cake, it’ll help the tradition continue forever.”
