LSU softball players Tori Edwards and Sierra Daniel spoke to the media as the Tigers prepare for their first round of play against Akron in the Baton Rouge Regional.
Leading the way for LSU as one of three captains on the team, Edwards is focused on getting her squad ready ahead of their first game of the postseason.
Despite a tough outing last year after losing twice at home to Southeastern Louisiana, Edwards explained that the team isn’t focused on the past, but is set to continue its “griddy” mindset they have had all season.
“At the end of the day, the team that wants it the most is going to come out on top,” Edwards said. “It’s just the same new group. Everyone has the same goal going into the postseason.”
Not only is the redshirt sophomore looking forward to postseason competition, but also junior Sierra Daniel. The second baseman is having her best season so far in the purple and gold and plans on taking her performance to the next level.
“I learned that every team is going to give you their best,” Daniel said. “It’s that time of season. We just got to play our LSU softball and give them their best, too.”
LSU (37-17) takes on Akron Friday at 5:30 p.m. CT at Tiger Park to start its first game of the Baton Rouge Regional.
