LSU Football head coach Brian Kelly spoke to the media ahead of LSU’s matchup against Texas A&M.
In last year’s matchup, LSU was stunned by Texas A&M when former backup quarterback Marcel Reed entered the game. Reed ran all over the LSU defense and dismantled LSU en route to a Texas A&M win.
This year LSU will have a lot of film to look at to prepare for Reed. Kelly has made an emphasis in practice to control the run to limit Reed. Kelly looks at how LSU limited Lanorris Sellers as the plan to contain Reed.
“You know Sellers, forcing him to go east and west instead of north and south,” Coach Kelly said. “He ran a lot of you know yards going east and west. We have to do that and continue to do that.”
With potential for rain during Saturday’s game LSU Football prepared for the wet conditions in practice this week.
“We have, you know, used wet ball all week on offense, preparing for weather,” Coach Kelly said. “And that’s just simply using a water bottle, spraying the ball and making sure that, you know if the weather is wet, we still have to execute, especially on the offensive side of the ball.”
No. 20 ranked LSU will face off against No. 3 ranked Texas A&M on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m. CT inside Tiger Stadium.
