The Meltdown Snoballs has become a popular stop for residents seeking relief from Louisiana’s rising temperatures, drawing steady lines of customers across its multiple locations.
With locations on Brusly, Highland Road, Jefferson Highway and Louisiana Highway, the business regularly sees crowds wrapped around parking lots as customers wait for snowballs, hot food and frozen treats.
Behind the growing operation is 20-year-old CEO Zein Clayton, who said his inspiration came from childhood visits to snowball stands.
“I always loved snowballs from just like a little child my mom had to bring me to the snowball stand at least two to three times a day so when i got older and acquired the capital i instantly put my money into a snowball stand..” Clayton says.
When he gained the capital to start his own business, Clayton said opening a snowball stand felt like a natural choice.
The menu has expanded beyond traditional snowballs to include flavored hot dogs, loaded nachos, ice cream and other items, offering options for a wide range of customers.
Clayton said his 72-year-old grandfather plays a key role in the business, preparing homemade chili using a family recipe that frequently sells out.
While the long lines reflect the stand’s popularity, Clayton said the greatest reward comes from the positive impact on the community and the smiles he sees each day.
From savory meals to sweet treats, The Meltdown Snoballs continues to serve customers across the region — one smile at a time.
