Ole Miss jumped out to an early lead against No. 8 LSU and held on to take a 21-17 lead into halftime at Tiger Stadium.
Ole Miss opened the scoring on a 58-yard touchdown run by sophomore quarterback Bo Wallace.
The Tigers responded on the ensuing possession, driving down the field on just two plays. The quick-strike drive was capped off by a 27-yard touchdown run by freshman running back Jeremy Hill. Senior kicker Drew Alleman converted the extra-point to tie the game 7-7.
Ole Miss was next to score on 56-yard bomb by Wallace to sophomore wide receiver Donte Moncreif.
LSU responded after a muffed punt — recovered by freshman linebacker Debo Jones — but was forced to settle for a 22-yard field goal, which Alleman converted. The field goal brought the score to 14-10.
After a Bo Wallace interception, the Tigers were able to put the ball into the end zone when junior running back Spencer Ware scored from 2-yards out.
Ole Miss was last to score when they drove 97-yards on 11 plays. Wallace finished the drive off with a 1-yard touchdown run, his second of the game. Senior kicker Bryson Rose converted the extra point to give Ole Miss the 21-17 lead going into halftime.
