Have you heard of pickleball? The viral activity that has been taken up by many around the world.
The intense popularity of this sport led to the start of Louisiana State University's very own pickleball club.
“I started it because I played tennis in high school, and found out there wasn’t a pickleball club so I just thought it was the right thing to do,” LSU Pickleball President Cayden Simmons said.
LSU pickleball club is for everyone whether you play for fun or want to take it to the next level, this club has a wide range of levels from beginner to competitive. The competitive team travels to other SEC universities such as Auburn and has even gained sponsorships from local companies in Baton Rouge.
This club isn’t only to play pickleball, it helps build connections and create long lasting friendships.
“It’s really cool for anyone who doesn’t know what they wanna do on campus,” LSU pickleball team member Ethan Martin said. “I suggest you come and try it out, a way to get involved.”
