LSU Men’s Basketball players Dedan Thomas Jr. and Max Mackinnon spoke to the media following a victory against Tarleston State.
“I’ve been looking forward to it, it was a good preseason,” Said Senior Transfer Max Mackinnon.
Both players emphasized how team chemistry and communication played a major role in securing the win in the season opener.
“It’s like a breath of fresh air playing with them,” Thomas said when asked about the connection he has with his teammates.
Thomas, a freshman guard making his collegiate debut with 16 points and 8 assists. While Mackinnon led the team in scoring with 19 points and 5 assists.
Head coach Matt McMahon praised both players for their leadership and effort, noting that the team’s strong depth gave the Tigers the strong foundation they needed early in the season.
LSU will look to build on that depth when they host New Orleans on Monday, Nov. 10, in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
