The LSU offense is still in the works after Saturday’s game, and that may start with a quarterback change.
Although Michael Van Buren finally got his first start and his first win of the season, coaches still await an update for Garrett Nussmeier to see if he can take the field against Western Kentucky.
“I know he’s going to want to,” Wilson said. “We’re going to defer to our medical staff, our trainers, and our doctors to do what’s best for him. If there’s any way that he can, I know he’s going to want to do so, but I don’t have those answers just yet.”
Frank Wilson applauds Nussmeier’s eagerness to help with the team. Although he’s sidelined, that doesn’t change the leadership he brings.
“I was so proud of him and his leadership and how he stood by his teammates and how he encouraged Michael through the duration of the game, as well as the entire offense and defense,” Frank said. “So his contributions were significant for the morale of our football team.”
LSU will take on WKU Saturday at 6:45 p.m. in Tiger Stadium.
