LSU Football Interim Head Coach Frank addressed the media following Thursday’s practice as the Tigers prepare for Saturday, the program’s Senior Night and final home game of the 2025–26 season.
Wilson emphasized how the team is mindful that the regular season is winding down, and noted that players and coaches are trying to soak in each and every remaining moment. He mentioned the significance of the week for LSU’s senior class, many of whom will take the field in Death Valley for their final time.
Wilson said the reality of the moment is starting to sink in for his seniors, who stayed behind on the field after practice to take in their surroundings.
“I think it’s starting to resonate. You see those guys today in practice, stay after practice and just look around and gaze.”
He also included that the significance of Saturday’s game will likely hit the players at multiple points throughout the day.
“I would imagine in pregame, they’ll take it in, during the game and then probably even more importantly during postgame, to really allow that to marinate.”
Wilson also touched on the probability of Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, stating “I think there is a want for him, but I also think there’s a consciousness of care.”
With only a handful of regular-season games left, Coach Wilson emphasized how the team will remain focused, despite the continuous changes this season including numerous injuries, coaching and administrative changes within the program.
As LSU heads into its final stretch, Wilson said the Tigers are determined to close the season with purpose. The team is set to take on Western Kentucky on Nov. 22, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in Tiger Stadium.
