Senior night in Death Valley is a tradition that has lived on for many years. As LSU faces Western Kentucky in its final home game this season, the emotional tradition will continue that honors seniors to play in the purple and gold.
Over 20 seniors will be honored as the Tigers gear up for the Hilltoppers. Players include quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, linebackers Harold Perkins Jr. and West Weeks, LSU’s all-time leading scorer Damian Ramos and defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory II.
When asked about senior night and what LSU means to him, Guillory was very emotional. “LSU [were] the first ones to believe in me,” Guillory said. “I always felt like there was a reason why I was at LSU.”
Legendary Tigers like Joe Burrow, Jayden Daniels and others have given fans unforgettable performances on their senior days. Burrow finished with 352 passing yards and three touchdowns in a win against Texas A&M and led the Tigers to a 12-0 regular season record. Daniels, who also played the Aggies, finished with 235 and four touchdowns to cap off a Heisman-winning season.
Nussmeier will not be able to suit up in his last home game in the purple and gold, but given Tiger fans many memories. Tiger fans will forever remember Nussmeier’s perfect pass to win in overtime against Ole Miss on homecoming.
The seniors who are playing will look to make one more ever lasting memory as they make their final appearance in Death Valley
