Senior Flau’jae Johnson and Sophomore Mikaylah Williams spoke to the press after their 116-58 Victory over Jacksonville Friday night.
Johnson and Williams were the team’s top performers against the Dolphins. Flau’jae ended the night with 20 points and Mikaylah had a 18-10 double double, the fourth of her career. The team had a game plan coming into the game, and Williams was pleased with their performance.
“We came in trying to be disciplined, trying to share the ball, trying to get everybody involved, trying to get a lot of post touches. I think we came in and executed our game plan.”
Flau’jae Johnson and Mikaylah Williams have undeniable chemistry on the court and it started long before they put on their LSU jerseys. Johnson helped recruit Williams back in 2022, and they had played with each other years before.
“Playing with 4, we clicked as soon as I came on campus. Even before that. We met at a camp, and the rest has been history.” Williams told the press.
In their victory over Jacksonville, 8 of the Tigers scored double digits and all season long, Kim Mulkey has emphasized the importance of getting all of her players in games to develop confidence.
“It’s important to have that confidence and know they can play in the postseason, know they can play these games, and know that we have confidence in them and Coach Mulkey has confidence in them.” Johnson says.
The Tigers will play against #7 Texas Tech Sunday at 2 P.M CST in the PMAC for Flau’jae Johnson’s last home game.
