The LSU Women’s Tennis team battled the Alabama Crimson Tide in a Thursday Night match in the Baton Rouge Tennis Complex. The Tigers defeated Alabama, with a final score of 4-1.
The match started with doubles. Pairs for tonight was LSU’s Florentine Dekkers and Kayla Cross, who beat Kristina Paskauskas and Addison Bowman 6-2.
In the only doubles match that Alabama won, Kenna Erickson and Carolina Kuhl played against Karla Bartel and Klara Milicevic, and lost in a close match, 5-4.
For the last doubles pairing of the night, Addison Lanton and Alexia Marginean played against Mariia Sidelnyk and Amina Salibayeva, winning 7-5.
LSU led in the doubles matchups for the night going two for three.
There were six singles games and two of which were won by Alabama. In a forfeit game by Cadence Brace, Kristina Paskauskas automatically took the win. Kayla Cross for the Tigers played Klara Milicevic and won 6-3.
Addison Lanton was a standout player of the night, winning her singles match against Karla Bartel 6-1. This was followed by another from Kenna Erickson who beat Amina Salibayeva 3-1.
In the last match of the night, Maria Sidelnyk from Alabama beat Florentine Dekkers 6-3 to end the match.
The LSU Tigers will go on to play Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday, April 4, at home.
