On October 24, 2018, a small electrical fire broke out in the laundry room of Miller Hall.
Miller is a residential dorm near the UREC that caused the evacuation of the entire building.
A commercial laundry repair company Caldwell and Gregory, dispatched one of their mechanics, to resolve the issue in less than 5 minutes.
The Mechanic said when he arrived, the washing machines was overloaded with a full comforter set and items of clothing.
The washing cycle never turned on because of this overloading issue, so none of the items were affected by the fire.
