The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX, which took place at the Caesar’s SuperDome in New Orleans.
LSU students had mixed feelings about the outcome of the game.
“My favorite part of the Super Bowl was definitely when I realized that the Eagles were about to win,” Morgan said. “Like you could just tell they went on a run, they started getting the sacks and they started scoring back to back. It was very surprising and shocking. I didn’t want the Chiefs to win anyways, so.”
“I wasn’t surprised,” Ravyn said. “Eagles, you know, Jalen Hurts… it is what it is. There’s not much to say. I knew what was gonna happen. The boys came out on top. Lot of money, you know, life’s good.”
“I’m a Bears fan, but the Eagles are definitely my second favorite team,” Maddie said. “First of all, they’re all so fine, they are all fine. I was actually shocked the refs called a fair game.”
“It was smooth, but I won my bread so I’m not trippin’ about the outcome,” Tristan said.
“When the refs aren’t on the Chiefs’ side you see what happens,” Trey’Dez said.
“I was just watching for my parlays,” Corey said.
The halftime show was also a hot topic on campus.
“It was really kinda mid honestly,” Brandon said. “I feel like the audience didn’t really get involved which kind of made the whole halftime performance not as electric as it could’ve been.”
As for the Chiefs dynasty, LSU students do not think it is over.
“I feel like the Chiefs are gonna be back in the same spot,” Jacob said. “It’s just whether they win or lose in big games now. They’re still gonna be in the playoffs regardless.”
