As LSU nears their big rivalry game, four LSU football players spoke to the media on Tuesday afternoon.
Trey’Dez Green explained that under the new head coach, different adjustments have been made. One being a big bass drum in the team meeting room, which is being referred to as “the heartbeat,” which is banged on during meetings to mimic the team’s hearts getting faster and faster to get them riled up before practice.
“It’s great, it gets us pumped, it gets us hyped,” Green explained.
Green seemed to be pretty excited when talking about the new editions and the head coach. He also continued to speak very highly of LSU’s special teams and the work they have been putting in.
Multiple players mentioned the addition of more physicality during warm-ups. Especially a specific drill that focuses on some of the backup players on the team, called “Tiger Bowl”. When West Weeks was asked about any specific players sticking out, he was quickly filled with excitement.
“It’s so much fun for me being an older guy, being able to watch those guys and watch how much passion they have. I can’t even point out a single guy because all those dudes were flying around, you would have thought they were playing in the SEC championship the way they were playing last week. It was fun to see all those guys fly around and play,” Weeks said.
After LSU has added both a new Head Coach and Athletic Director, it should be interesting to see what more is to come before the season ends.
