LSU Men’s Basketball players Mike Nwoko, Marquel Sutton and Dedan Thomas Jr. spoke to the media following the win over Florida International University (FIU).
Even though it was a win, it wasn’t the best game that the Tigers had as they shot 32-of-61 and went 4-of-17 from the 3 point line. The beginning of the game was a bit slow for the Tigers, but they are glad they were able to pull through.
“It’s just good to know that we can pull through,” Nwoko said. “In certain situations that isn’t going how it’s supposed to go. I feel like as we face adversity, we’re going to face adversity no matter what the case is, so if we’re able to keep on pulling through, It’ll just help us in the long run.
After the performance the Tigers had against FIU, they gave themselves a D- for a grade, mainly for the costly turnovers and the missed three’s.
“I didn’t play my best game,” Thomas said. “Just some turnovers. Just to collectively have a group who just made bad mental mistakes, but it’s good to see and have that early in the season, get those kinks out and just move on to the next game. We’ll be better.”
The Tigers will be back in the PMAC Tuesday, Nov. 4 to take on Alcorn State at 7 p.m.
