On the second day of the Tiger Beach Challenge tournament, the LSU Beach Volleyball team hosted the Houston Christian Huskies and secured a victory with a score of 5-0.
From the jump, the Tigers had ecstatic energy in the hot weather. Starting on court 5, freshman Ryan Lambart and redshirt freshman Bella Lageman kicked off the tournament with a strong start.
With Lageman opening the game with a straight swipe shot, the Tigers were able to build their momentum within the first set, building their confidence to dominate the rest of the sets on their court.
Transitioning to court 6, seniors Gracey Campbell and Amaya Messier were teamed against the Huskies sophomore Sophia Sabol and senior Emma Campbell. Both doubles bought an exciting yet close performance, as each player executed urgent strikes and great defence.
Despite the Huskies keeping up a strong offensive attack, the Tigers took control throughout the sets and wrapped it up with Gracey Campbell ending the game with a straight attack hit.
Starting the season ranked No. 12 the Tigers showed LSU fans today what they can bring to the table no matter the weather nor competitor.
The Tigers are currently 2 for 2 in the Tiger Beach Challenge after defeating Southern Mississippi earlier on. Catch them on Saturday as they will face Washington and ULM.
