Down in New Orleans, Louisiana, Mike the Jeweler is the magician behind the magic when making the LSU athletes custom jewelry.
With 15 years in the jewelry business, Mike has been making custom pieces for athletes for two years, both at the professional and collegiate level. He makes pieces such as custom chains, bracelets, watches and pendants.
Growing up in New Orleans, Louisiana, Mike has seen professional and collegiate teams compete which inspired him to pursue a career in making custom items for the athletes. What sets him apart from other jewelers is his passion and love for sports in Louisiana. Especially for LSU athletics.
“I love LSU and I love making custom pieces for LSU players and that’s what I like to do,” he said.
Despite providing unique designs to these pieces, Mike also ensures that an athlete’s custom jewelry is tied to who and where they play for. His favorite pieces are the ones that mirror an athlete’s personality.
“My favorite piece, I always say that is for Seth Dardar, he’s a baseball player, and because it is a Louisiana boot and he has a signature in there, it’s a very unique and different custom piece. I love it.”
Mike has been creating custom jewelry for LSU athletes for two years which allowed him to build trust and gain more customers. Yet the creation does not stop at LSU athletes. Mike has also created jewelry for players such as Carolina Panthers linebacker, Jacoby Windom and defensive line for University Miami football, DeAnthony Lafayette.
It may be a long process to create these unique, custom items; however, the wait is worth it when you see the athletes wear their chains on game day. As the players post their jewelry with their outfits on game day, or the LSU football team when they walk down Victory Hill towards Tiger Stadium wearing their suits and chains, Mike the Jeweler was behind it all.
