No. 7-seeded LSU men’s Tennis hosted Alabama State in an NCAA Regional Opener. LSU dominated South Alabama, winning 4-0.
Starting with singles, LSU went undefeated in all of their matches going 3-0. LSU was able to not even give Alabama State a glimmer of hope.
The best performances of the singles matches were Junior Alessia Vasquez and Freshman Erik Arutiunian. Vasquez won both of his matches 6-0 and 6-3. Arutiunian also won both of his matches 7-5 and 6-1.
The only match that the Hornets were able to win was a doubles match where Vid Maric and Gordan Fran Mileusnic defeated Loncarevic and Sasa Markovic.
However, LSU would still win overall in doubles which came from Arutiunian and Matias Ponce de Leon won 6-1, and Olaf Pieczkowski and Enzo Kohlmann De Freitas won 6-1.
After this win, LSU will face off against Pepperdine at the LSU Tennis Complex on Saturday at 5 p.m.
