LSU Football players spoke with reporters following the second open practice of the 2026 spring season. The media had the opportunity to hear from veterans, Whit Weeks and Trey’Dez Green, and newcomers Ty Benefield and Jordan Seaton.
The main questions asked were surrounded on the building of team chemistry and the unique style of coaching brought in by Head Coach Lane Kiffin.
Senior Safety, Ty Benefield, a recent transfer from Boise State added “I’m excited for something here and I’m really enjoying this transition to Baton Rouge. The Senior Standout for Broncos was one of the first transfers to sign under Head Coach Lane Kiffin.
Veteran Linebacker Whit Weeks opened by saying “Everything we do has a purpose from what time we eat in the morning, to lunch, everything we do within this program has a specific purpose.”
With a new head coach and being one of the very few returning players for the Tigers this season, Weeks included how detailed Coach Kiffin is when it comes to every single aspect of the team on and off the field.
Kiffin’s success and progress as head coach is already making its way through the team and program as a whole.
Transfer Offensive Lineman, Jordan Seaton commented on the before and after effects he is seeing in his first few months as an LSU Tiger. Seaton left Colorado weighing in at 320 pounds, but now in just a short period of time has healthily lost 15 pounds.
Tight End Trey’Dez Green spoke on the competitiveness within Seaton and how he is always working around the clock to get better each and every day.
Green added, “I stay in the neighborhood with him…he’s always calling me like let’s work, lets work, lets do this, lets do that,”
Seaton reminisced on a time seeing a random person running and added “I just saw somebody randomly running hills and it just made me feel like he was outworking me. So I was like we’ve got to run hills.”
Tiger fans should anticipate the upcoming 2026 Spring Game, as it will be the first time for the public eye to see Head Coach Lane Kiffin and the Fighting Tigers in action for the first time in Death Valley.
