LSU Volleyball hosted the Tennessee Volunteers for their SEC home opener, but fell short 3-1 after winning the first 2 sets.
The game opened with the honoring of Outside Hitter Jurnee Robinson, as she became the 24th LSU Tiger to reach 1,000 career kills.
The Tigers were off to a strong start, winning the first two sets with 67 total kills. Before Tennessee was able to rally back and gain momentum to take over the remaining sets.
The Lady Vols were able to secure the win with 68 kills and .350 overall.
Key standouts for the Tigers were Nia Washington and Jurnee Robinson. With 14 kills for Washington and a career high of 33 kills for Jurnee Robinson. Her second career 30-kill match.
Despite the loss, the Tigers are hoping to bounce back as they host another SEC opponent, the No. 23 Florida Gators.
