No. 10 LSU is gearing up for an SEC matchup on the road against the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Ahead of the matchup, Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, Cornerback PJ Woodland, and Defensive End Dylan Carpenter spoke to the media.
The Tigers are coming off of a 20-10 Homecoming victory over South Carolina. Climbing to the No.10 spot in the AP poll, the team plans to remain grounded. Cornerback PJ Woodland emphasized the importance of their team motto in order to secure the victory.
“Our motto has been 1-0 so we just go into each week trying to be 1-0,” Woodland said.
Statistically, Vanderbilt is favored to win over the Tigers. Previously falling 17-24 to LSU last year in Death Valley, the Commodores are looking forward to the home field advantage.
Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier said the team is not intimidated being on the road, but rather fired up and motivated to silence the crowd.
Nussmeier stated how he feels heading into the hostile environment, “There’s nothing like going and taking the life out of a stadium.”
The matchup between the Tigers and Commodores will mark LSU’s second consecutive SEC matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m CT.
